I hate to say this, but I call romantic fiction “brain candy” . I actually do love a quick & cute romance but they’re usually read in between books that take a bit more to…digest. I read so little of them that I actually choose them at the library based on what the book jacket looks like! It’s also how I pick my wine . I didn’t read too many last year and about half of them were part of series that I really liked!! Here are my top 10 in no particular order:
- MATCHMAKING FOR BEGINNERS: Maddie Dawson
- SLIGHTLY SOUTH OF SIMPLE: Kristy Woodson Harvey
- THE SECRET TO SOUTHERN CHARM: Kristy Woodson Harvey
- THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF PARADISE: Kristy Woodson Harvey
- WHAT HAPPENS IN PARADISE: Elin Hilderbrand
- WINTER IN PARADISE: Elin Hilderbrand
- THE IDENTICALS: Elin Hilderbrand
- ELIGIBLE: Curtis Sittenfeld
- THE ISLAND: Elin Hilderbrand
- WINTER STORMS: Elin Hilderbrand
Can you tell that I like Elin Hilderbrand? I think her books are actually really well thought out and usually take place around Cape Cod/Nantucket area, which I love! Her paradise trilogy is set in St. John, and to be honest, I actually loved the books because they were on STJ more than the story line itself ♀️. The Southern Charm trilogy was also very sweet and quick to read! I’ve already read a few more Elin Hilderbrand novels this year, and I’ve got a short list of romances to keep going on!!
